At St Crispin’s Anglican Cathedral where DGS has been operating for some years it has been found that the teenagers really like both Level 3 and the Teen extension and is really holding on to the teenagers as they spend time working in small groups and bonding together.
This is in distinct contrast to other churches where there is traditional Sunday School, where
from about 10/11 years there is significant drop off of attendance especially in urban areas
including a large Pentecostal group who operate in slum areas.
It is proposed that where this is occurring, priority be given to establishing Level 3 and Teen
to help support young teens navigate adolescence. The first step would be to do Level 1
formation because this is where the DGS approach is established. DGS has been asked to
set this up in some new start-ups.
In Makueni Anglican Diocese at The DWA Sisal village, which is a bit isolated, has a
significant group of older children and teenagers and the recommendation is that the start
there should be Level 3 and Teen after Level 1 formation to help the teenagers and youth.
